INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPTS:
WSA: Good day from Wall Street, this is Juan Costello, Senior Analyst at the Wall Street Analyzer. Joining us today is Randy Seidl. He is the CEO at Rain Enhancement Technologies. The company trades on Nasdaq, ticker symbol RAIN. Thanks for joining us today there, Randy.
Randy Seidl: Excellent. Juan, thanks for having me. How’s your day going?
WSA: Pretty good here. Actually bright and clear today, so-.
Randy Seidl: Excellent.
WSA: But still a good day to talk about Rain. And I know just kind of looking over your background, you’re not a meteorologist or anything, why do you think you were hired by Rain?
Randy Seidl: Yeah, great question. So, I really didn’t know before January, much of anything than what every normal person would know about weather. But it came about through a SPAC process, and there were three terrific ringleaders, Paul Dacier, Niccolo de Masi, and Harry You. Paul was a long-time general counsel at EMC, and then Dell. Have known him since probably the 80s. And Harry You is our chairman and was instrumental in driving the SPAC process. He’s got over 150 M&A transactions that he’s done. He was — played a key role in Dell’s buyout with EMC and VMware. And actually Michael Dell has a chapter dedicated to him. So he is been a fantastic resource and lots of great perspectives there. But they really identified through the SPAC process this opportunity with Rain, which we’ll get to talk about in a little bit here.
And just sound, really a great way to kind of leverage a lot of the go to market leadership and operational skills that I’ve developed over the years. And I’ve always been in really the technology area. So this is maybe another version of that and love the challenge and seems like a great opportunity to grow a real great company. So since probably end of the year I was really on deck pending the successful Nasdaq PUPS listing which we got at the beginning of January.
WSA: Great, so can you give us a general overview of basically what the company does? And kind of sounds like a conspiracy theorist talking about weather patterns, things like that. Do you really help make it rain?
Randy Seidl: Absolutely. So our mission is really to serve really all regions devastated by drought and companies with products and services that rely on a ever-decreasing water supply. Before I started here, I heard about some of the global water issues, but really had no idea out west, they’re just extreme water shortage issues. Lake Powell, Lake Mead are kind of record low levels. The southern kind of western states really get their water from Utah and Colorado, and there’s some water packs that go back over 100 years, and everybody’s kind of upset with each other. So it’s really been a fascinating perspective. It’s been a fast kind of eight months. And from a simplistic perspective, in terms of what we do, we do make it rain.

We need to have over 40% humidity or 40% chance of rain. And if you can visualize an American football goalpost, that structure we call WETA—Weather Enhancement Technology Array. I’m from Boston, so kind of that’s how a lot of people say weather there. So we thought that was cute. Kind of WETA, weather and with this structure, I also want to highlight, we use no chemicals at all. So definitely environmentally safe. We shoot up ground based. We have the ground based system releases electrically charged particles into natural wind currents. So what we need to do is the area that we want to enhance really needs to be kind of downwind from where we are. We’ve got a great team of meteorologists that help us put that together. And if you visualize the area, it’s sort of a polygon 30 to 40 miles long on each side of that kind of longer kind of triangle area. And then 18 miles or more kind of on, on the other side. So all in, that’s at least 360 square miles or 230,000 acres. So it’s pretty good sized area.
So we shoot these, or we release these electric charge particles, and then the negative ions attach to the air particles and they rise with the air currents or the wind into the cloud or cloud layers. And then those charged particles help the water droplets grow larger by accelerating the collision and combination. So basically, the electric particles go up into the clouds, attach to the rain, make the raindrops bigger, and we say 18%, but it’s pretty much over 15 percent increase in what the rainfall would otherwise be. And it has been statistically proven through some tests that happened over 10 years ago in Oman.
WSA: Yeah. Who are your target buyers and clients?
Randy Seidl: Good news is that really almost everybody needs water to survive and live. If you think about water agencies or water districts where that’s their business, agricultural operations for food. So anybody growing food. Animals, cows are huge consumers, energy companies, real estate developers, these huge AI data centers take a crazy amount of water. Real estate developers, resorts, golf courses, large landowners, Indian tribes, and certainly at the state level, especially out west they’re actively engaged. And foreign countries have a lot going on as well. And it’s interesting to observe that especially in the Middle East at the country level, they’re far more organized than we are in the US. In the US, it’s really going to — every person for themselves.
WSA: What are the main reasons why these clients should use the Rain Enhancement Technology platform?
Randy Seidl: Great question. So there’s four main things. First is proven results with chemical free technology. Second, superior economics and operational efficiency. Third, precise control and flexibility. And fourth, and lastly, being a public company, stable and have lots of credibility to execute. So if I circle back, proven results, as I mentioned before with the Oman study, statistically documented over 15% in rainfall over that six year trial in Oman. Other [methods], when you hear about cloud seeding, others, especially with planes, will use silver iodide or other chemicals. We use no silver iodide at all. So that’s how we can address some of the otherwise environmental concerns with traditional cloud seeding. And then secondly, on the economics or operational efficiency side, their ROI usually works out to be between six and 12 months, and that’s on a product or unit being the WETA that has a 15 year lifespan. So, pretty good ROI.
And there’s really little to no ongoing maintenance costs. And from a operating cost, we’re solar powered, so take about as much power as it does for a household oven is the analogy that we use. So, really no ongoing CapEx requirements. So, again, for others that might consider doing the traditional airplane cloud seeding, there’s no expensive ongoing costs with aircraft, pilots, consumable chemicals or anything like that. And then the third one with the control and flexibility, it mentioned the tightly kind of defined enhancement area, which is still large, 360 square miles and 230,000 acres. I like to say it’s kind of like landing a plane on an aircraft carrier, but obviously very large aircraft carrier. If for some reason there’s excessive rain that is predicted, it’s kind of easy on, easy off control so we can dissipate the effects within hours if we get deactivated.

And very easy installation and ability to do trials. And then the fourth one, and lastly being a public company with stability and execution having the NASDAQ listing is great. We have a terrific leadership team which is all on the website. We’ve been very fortunate to get lots of the country’s best weather modification and meteorology experts. And we’re already — we’ve got 10 units we’re going to be deploying this year. And then we’re already building another 10 more systems for deployment next year.
WSA: Sounds like you got a lot in mind here for the upcoming few months. And so are there any other weather solutions that you’re working on?
Randy Seidl: Yes, another great question. We have a pilot for snow that we’re doing in one of the Western states that we’re going to be starting off with in probably two, three months here. We’ve never been tested for snow, but there isn’t any reason scientifically why we would not work. So really excited about that. We have a fog pilot that we’re going to be doing in Australia in September or October. So being able to dissipate fog would be huge. And I’ll just circle back on snow. So a lot of people look at snow and skiers, but it’s really snow pack and the snow that happens during the season is really what turns to water that then feeds the aquifers and the reservoirs and residential areas during the non snow season. So that’s why snow’s really important.
And then fog, we’ve already identified lots of use cases, but obviously airports would be a large one and others around the world. So those are two that we have on the short term radar. And then hail dissipation is another one for next year. That’s one interestingly enough that obviously farmers, but especially insurance companies would be really interested in because if you’ve been in — I’ve been in — Dallas is an example and all of a sudden — hails and all of a sudden everybody’s cars get these massive hail things on them. And then similarly, if the farmers get hail right when they’re going to be pulling the food off for the cropping season that can be really bad too. So those are some that we are really excited about.

WSA: Yeah. Well, that’s pretty impressive considering that you just started up this year. Are there any other updates we should be aware of?
Randy Seidl: Yeah couple others. Excited that we — I inherited a great board, but also I was able to add two outstanding board members. One, Bob Reardon. He’s a CEO of ISG. So very experienced in the insurance industry and insurance companies are really interested in what we’re doing. So lots of opportunities there. And also Marc Peperzak, who’s a long-time global dairy executive. So lots of great feedback and expertise that we’re able to get from him as well. I mentioned before I think the two installs that we have happening in the next few months. So excited to get those going as well as the 10 more WETAs that we are building now and looking to install next year.
We’re also gaining lots of interest at the state level. So lots of the western states for us being a fantastic warm weather alternative for the traditional silver iodide cloud seeding that really works at temperatures that are below freezing. We work really well in warmer weather. We actually have one of the states where we’re going to be in one of the first warm weather enhancing alternatives. That’s in the works as we speak. And building out the company. Really most proud of the great team that we put together. I touch on it a little bit before, but really great functional executives on the product side, the technology side, the finance, legal, marketing, sales, the meteorologist. And Monday, we even have a great data scientist and a field meteorologist and construction supervisor starting.
So really great team that we have that can help us continue to go and grow. And besides a strong board, fortunate to have a great team of experienced weather modification and meteorology experts, several who are advisors.

WSA: Great. And yeah, so what are the key goals and milestones that you’re hoping to accomplish here?
Randy Seidl: From a product side already obviously mentioned getting the two units installed, but really pleased with our future roadmap including a mobile system for next year. So ability based on the season and the desires to be able to move that around. So that helps from a economics perspective. We’ve been doing, and we’ll continue to do lots of great marketing and messaging, and all this everybody can see on our website, rainenhancement.com. So lots of great stuff. And that’s as a public company, what I concurrently talk about.
WSA: Right, right. I’m sure you got to keep a lot of it close to the vest. So in terms of the key trends that you’re seeing in the sector, how is the company positioned to be able to capitalize?
Randy Seidl: Yeah. Absolutely. So there is for sure a little bit of a public backlash, I think on some misinformation with kind of the chemical aspect that happens with silver iodide. Admittedly it’s a small amount, but because we use no chemicals, we’re definitely getting lots of interest from all kinds of parties that may otherwise kind of have that fear factor on silver iodide. So that’s working out well. We have proven results that we stand behind when we’re talking to customers. Having the tightly defined enhancement area, the 360 square miles and the 230,000 acres works out really well. And I’ve really had a blast using my, kind of, I’ll say my technology sales and go-to-market skills to help position us for our future growth.
WSA: So, current share price on Nasdaq $4.97 market cap at about 37 million. So before we conclude here, Randy, why do you believe investors should consider the company as a good investment opportunity today?
Randy Seidl: Absolutely. Great question to close on. I mean, I always look at it, whether you’re in a technology, sales or anything, and saying, okay, what’s the market? What’s the need? And there’s a huge need to solve this global water shortage. It’s a huge market. So if we can just get a smidgen of that, we can do really well. The board and I are here to grow shareholder value, very focused on that. We’re all about growth. The fact that we have the proven technology really short term ROI, so if you can buy any product that you can think of and you’re going to have it for 15 years, but the ROI is six to 12 months, that’s huge. We have a great wind at our back with the preference for no chemicals.
And not only do we have a great market opportunity with rain, but certainly as we expand with snow, fog and hail, that should work out really well for us. And that demonstrates our technology versatility and multiple revenue streams. Obviously being a public company as well, I’m not disclosing anything, but opportunity to make acquisitions works really well. So in general, I’m really very excited about our opportunity and how we’re positioned and opportunity for growth most importantly for the shareholders.
WSA: Well, yeah, we certainly look forward to continuing to track the company’s growth and report on the upcoming progress. And we’d like to thank you for taking the time to join us today, Randy.
Randy Seidl: Great, Juan. Yes.
WSA: And yeah, introduce our investor audience to Rain. It was great having you on.
Randy Seidl: Great. Thanks. Really appreciate it.
